Hindi, being the national and primary official language of our country along with its multifarious dialects and literary verdure, is like a mirror which reflects a major part of Indian culture, historicity, literature and ethnicity.  It plays a vital role to unite the people together by their rituals and customs. In view of increasing importance of the study of Hindi the Midnapore College has taken a lead in Midnapore by starting U.G. course in Hindi in the year 2012. Since then Hindi became a subject in the under-graduate Honours course curriculum in Midnapore College.
